The Thomas Shop hosts The Wool Emporium, a Showcase of Wool and Fibre Products from Wales, and the Marches. Three Showcases are planned, with the first of these now open from Friday – Monday each week. The second Showcase will be from October 2007 to January 2008, followed by the third from February to May 2008.

Accommodation

The Thomas Shop, Penybont, Llandrindod Wells provides distinctive accommodation that is both comfortable and sensitive to the history of the buildings and the cultural heritage of Mid Wales and includes Bed and Breakfast, Self-Catering and Respite Care.

Attractions 

 
We have taken our name from the shop which dates as back to 1805. The Thomas Shop/Museum is a restoration of the original shop, and its unique collection grows continually, thanks to the generous donations of the Friends of the Thomas Shop. 
Other attractions at the Thomas Shop include:
Tea Shop, Galleries, and sales of wool and fibre items, traditional craft, and a range of unusual gifts and novelties.

Craft Workshops

A number of businesses and enterprises are now resident at the Thomas Shop based upon traditional and contemporary skills. These include: Stained Glass, Textile art, Spinning and Weaving, Costume and Corsetry, and Recycled Glass.

Opportunities

There are a number of opportunities to get involved in activities at the Thomas Shop. You can book into Courses and events that we are running at the Thomas Shop – see our Diary page for details. Community Groups also meet at the Thomas Shop. On Monday evenings there is a Sewing Group, and the Red Kite Wood Carvers meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
We have an Entertainment Licence and the Laundry, and other spaces, are available to rent for Parties, Seminars, Meetings, Courses, Workshops. We also have Licence for Weddings and we specialise in small inexpensive  weddings that can be tailored to your specific needs.
