| Access Policy The Thomas Shop is a listed property with 400 years of history reflected in the buildings. In developing facilities we have tried to maintain a balance between respecting the history and architecture of the property while at the same time making reasonable adjustments to cater for people with mobility restrictions. Wherever possible we have made the ground floor accessible. Unfortunately the facilities on the first floor can only be accessed by stairs. If you decide to come by public transport the bus from Hereford to Llandrindod Wells passes through the village. Penybont Station on the Heart of Wales Line is a request stop and we will be pleased to pick you up from the station. On arrival we will familiarise you with the layout of the property and provide ‘touch tours’ for visually impaired visitors. The House There is level access into the conservatory and this leads through into the living room, the hall and a small, not specially adapted, toilet. There are two steps into the kitchen. Meals can be served in the conservatory, and there is access to the TV in the lounge. All of our B&B rooms are on the first floor. The Museum/Shop/ Tea Room/Conference Room/ Workshop/Toilet Facilities These facilities are on the ground floor and have no steps and wide doors. Gallery and Additional Sales Area These facilities are on the first floor and are only accessible via the stairs. The Meeting House This self catering unit has been designed on the ground floor to cater for people who use a wheelchair. It has a pull-out sofa bed, a small kitchen and an accessible shower/toilet. The first floor of the unit is only accessible via the staircase but has futon sofa beds and is ideal for a carer. Toilet Facilities We have a toilet that is fully equipped and designed for people who use a wheelchair. Suggestions We welcome comments from our guests who have limited mobility, and will review and upgrade our facilities accordingly, to try and maximise access for all.
